Archers seek his assistance to win tournaments. Children pray to him to get through exams. The sick pray to him for recovery. Officials go to him for a successful seminar. Farmers ask him for rain. If Bhutan went to war, the soldiers would pray to him for victory
Gyenyen Jagpa Milen, the revered protector deity of the 13th century Dechenphu (cave of consummate bliss) lhakhang, that sits at the north end of the Thimphu valley, is one of the most important spiritual guardians of the Bhutanese people

This is one of my favourite temples and I highly reccommend this to anyone who is in the Thimphu area and has some time on their hands. The temple is about a 25 minute drive from the Thimphu city center and is located in a beautifully wooded section of upper Thimphu valley. I am not sure how it is now but in those days, vehiculars roads did not make it all the way to the temple; people would have to hike for about an hour once they got out of their cars. The hike is through a beauifully wooded pine forest and which serves as a good area for picnic.
Really appreciate YANA's professional organization of the entire trip. Could not imagine how a trekking trip could such be well organized - more or less like a 5-star hotel with the only difference of we were at more than 3,000 above sea level. Special thanks to Yeshey and the chef who had given tons of assistance when I was descending due to attitude sickness. - Simon Liu, Hong Kong
